Trash Pick-Up
The City of Columbus has established neighborhood color codes to indicate the trash collection day. Our color code is Navy. The trash is collected on a rotating schedule tied to The City of Columbus observed holidays.
Place the household trash and garbage in the green, 90-gallon container provided for your address and move the container to the curb at the end of the driveway the evening before collection day. Please retrieve your empty container from the curb as soon as possible.
You can view the Rotating Holiday Refuse Collection Schedule for Residents at 311.columbus.gov. You can also view the trash collection schedule in The Columbus Dispatch newspaper.
Recycling and yard waste collection is on Wednesday morning every other week. During a week in which there is a holiday on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday the collection will be delayed by one day. Your collection will then return to Wednesday the following week.
Special arrangements must be made with the City to remove large items such as furniture, mattresses, etc. that will not fit in the 90-gallon containers. You can schedule bulk pick-up by contacting the City’s website or by calling 311.
If you would like an e-mail alert the day before trash or recycling pick-ups, you can sign-up at 311.columbus.gov. Click on Look Up My Collection Day, enter your address, and click Get A Reminder.
